Ok, I've got a question. I'm going out of town next week n I know that I am not going to be able to stick to my 1450 calories per day while I'm gone. The question is this: Currently I am on the calorie suggestion for 2 lbs a week weight loss. Should I change my calories to lose 1/2 lb a week to prevent me from gaining weight on my trip?

i think that's a good idea. but if you do totally blow your calories and gain a bit, don't sweat the small stuff! it's not typical and it will come right back off. enjoy your trip!0

No that won;t prevent you from gain weight it will just change you settings to reflect a slower weight loss. he thing is it will also throw your previous settings off. Just do the best you can and put a note in. I do that anytime I have unusual circumstances. This way you know why you didn't meet your goals.0

Will you be staying at a hotel that has a gym? Is your trip for pleasure, work? will you be on your feet for an extended period of time each day? if it's different/more active than normal, you can log the exercise as slow walking. I would suggest setting aside time to find a place to walk and just try to make good choices when you're out to eat. Don't forget to drink lots of water! You could change your goal for the week, I don't see how that would hurt, but still do your best to stick within the range you're given. Even half a lb is better than nothing. Good luck!0

Thanks for the suggestions. I am not trying to lose a ton of weight while on vacation because I know that it is not really realistic. I just don't want to gain any while I am there. Your suggestions are great. I really appreciate them. Anymore suggestions are welcome!!!0

When I travel, I just go by my maintenance calories. In addition to finding time to walk each day, you can try to fit in a quick 30 minute circuit (zero equipment needed: pushups, crunches, dips, squats & jogging in place come to mind!) in your hotel room in the evenings. Have fun on your trip!0

So when you say you go by maintenance calories do you mean that you change your settings in myfitnesspal to just maintain weight? BTW...your suggestions about quick workouts are great!! Thanks!0
