Uprising by Muse...GREAT song. It's very motivational to me. When I listen to it, I hear my own meaning in the words. "They" means food, stress, obesity, etc...and "us/we" means ME!! I will not be controlled by this weight loss journey...I am in control! I set up some goals for the month of May and here they are:
May Goals:
1. Run/Walk a total of 26.2 miles (distance of a marathon) SUCCESS-27.5 Total
2. Log EVERY day ~ FAILED!!!
3. Get to my half-way point- 202.5 ~ FAILED miserably
*4. Stay under calories for the rest of May! ~ FAILED
*Make-up goal due to my failure of #2 and still failed...
So, as you can see, I only reached one of my goals this month. I'm pretty disappointed in myself and my instincts tell me to just give up and that I'll never conquer this weight issue because I have been losing and gaining back the same few pounds for MONTHS!! BUT, I posted this in the "success stories" forum, because I do feel like I have succeeded a little. Yeah, I failed 3 out of 4 goals, but I met AND surpassed one! I didn't lose any weight, but I didn't gain any either. (Technically I actually lost 0.4 pounds from my weight on 5/01) AND most importantly...I'm NOT giving up. I'm going to persevere and try again in June with all new goals. I may not reach all of them again...I'm going to do my best to, but one thing I will definitely do is better than the month of May. I'm so sick of going up and down and back and forth. I need to take control of the situation and stop letting my food habits be controlled by boredom, stress, or whatever else. I have a lot going on in my life and none of it is going the way I want it to...I NEED a success in my life right now and this is the one and only thing that is truly and fully in my control! The only excuse I have for not progressing this month is that I wasn't consistent....and I CAN fix that! So here goes...
June Goals:
-Log every day!
-No more than 5 days over calories for the month
-Run the equivalent of a marathon (26.2 miles) ~joined by Lareishah
-Minimum of 500 calories burned at least 5 days/week (2500/week)
I'm also going to work on not eating just because I’m stressed or bored! I'm not going to focus on a certain number this month because I can't completely control the scale and that's what got me off track this month. Instead, I am going to focus on things that are completely within my control and hope that the scale and inches follow!
Watch out June...here I come!

I think it's the perfect place to post! You DID find success in that one thing and that's great!! Sure you may not have done as well as you'd like on the others, but you can always start again and it looks like you will be doing just that.
I think these are great goals and I hope you will achieve them this month!
I can understand your frustration, too in the same 1 or 2 lbs being lost and gained for too long, had the same thing just happen to me. And i figured out it's really because i wasn't doing it like i used to ... i got back to REALLY logging and to REALLY exercising and i FINALLY made it over that hurdle. I think you will, too.
Also, I came here because I noticed the Muse reference.0 -
