Typical New Scale Dilemma

Got a new scale, the reason being that my old one didn't show tenths. There's a two pould difference with the new one, to my delight says I'm two pounds lighter.

What makes the most sense would be to adjust my starting weight down two pounds... however I'm eight months into this and about 20lbs down. Is it silly that I've become so attached to my starting weight? I really don't want to change it.

I guess I could continue to add two pounds everytime I weigh in -- but I REALLY don't want to have to ADD weight. The day I reach my goal weight I want to SEE on in those red letters.

Any thoughts? Maybe I should just part with my starting weight....

Leave your starting weight where it is ... take the 2 pound loss and just move on! You earned it!! :)

I agree, just record the new weight as a loss and go with it. :)

I'm going to go with the others and take the new weight and record it.
  • Wish my scales would do that :flowerforyou:

I'm with everyone else - take the 2 lbs and celebrate :drinker:

Yep - take the 2 lbs!! I have 2 digital scales. One only weighs to the nearest 1/2 lb and the other is to the 1/10 lb. The one that weighs to the nearest 1/2 lbs ALWAYS weighs me 1.5 - 2 lbs heavier than my other scale. Since I recorded my official starting weight with the one that weighs me less, I stick with that one!

You guys are the best! I was going to feel REALLY guilty about it, but now I'm okay! I think sometimes we can be too hard on ourselves and I've realized that's exactaly what I was doing. I've worked REALLY hard so far - I'm going to take the two pounds and move on.

    Thanks ladies!
