So i hit a plateu for about a month. i worked out 4 days a week for 40 minutes and the scale would not move. Then we hit memorial weekend this past week. And ofcourse i ate more than usual passind my calorie intake for about 3 days in a row. I mean there was a BBQ everyday that weekend. So anyways long story short i weighted my self this morning so i can get back in to my routine and i ended loosing 2 pounds!! WOW i mean i know its nothing but the scale not moving for a month it was big for me. Maybe im not understanding this whole eating/nutrion stuff but, im glad my scale moved even if it was only alittle. Can anybody make sence out of this? couse im totally lost.

Sometimes your body needs a break... kinda like tricking it I had the same thing happen to me a couple weeks ago. Glad to see the scale is moving in the right direction0

GREAT JOB! Thats awesome that you lost 2 lbs. I am kindof in the same spot. I have been stuck at 327 for like 3 weeks but then when someone explained how the website actually worked, I started doing that and I switched up my workout routine, and I finally lost 2 lbs the other day!
I wish you much success and think its great that you just got out of youe plateau.

Gotta confuse your metabolism once in a awhile. Also, don't depend on the scale so much to read you weight loss. Take measurements. Just cuz the scale isn't moving, doesn't mean you losing fat. BTW, love your Lakers progress keeper. Maybe next season.0

Same thing happened to me about a month ago. I got nothing, no explanation. All I know is, if I hit another plateau and I know my food and exercise are up to par, I'm pigging out for a few days.0

I can't make sense out of it - except your body is going to have normal fluctuations in your weight. Who knows? Maybe big eating over the weekend means bigger output (if you know what I mean - ahem), maybe if you were out by the pool you got a little dehyrdated?
Or maybe after the scale not moving for a month, your body was ready to shed a couple of pounds, and even though you went over a few calories, it wasn't enough to gain significant weight.
Anyway - don't be set on what the number on the scale says (I know it's hard). Use measuring tape, take pictures. Glad you enjoyed your holiday weekend, a break here and then is fine, just stick with a healthy lifestyle 90% of the time. You'll get there.
Congrats on your progress thus far!0 -
Basically it comes down to the levels of the hormone Leptin. When you are in a caloric deficit your levels of leptin go down. They also go down as your fat % goes down. When they go low enough you plateau, but basically one day of eating a lot, and eating stuff like pizza and burgers will bump it back up to full. Then your weight loss will continue. You may want to increase your calories by reducing the number of pounds per week you want to lose. I would suggest 1 pound per week since you have less that 15 pounds to lose. You might have to reduce the goal/week even further than that, but if you are at more than 1 pound per week reduce it to that.0

It very well could be that your calorie deficits were too large. I was on a 2.5 month plateau and then met with my nutritionist, whose first suggestion was to eat more (150-200 calories more a day). I dropped 1.5 pounds over two weeks after I met with her (which is speedy loss given that I lift lots of weights and typically only drop ~0.5 lb a week when I'm losing steadily).
Could also be that your body was relaxing, too, and taking the time to recuperate. Happy to hear you busted a plateau! They're so frustrating. But you did it!0 -
