I'm down to have 1220 cals per day = always come in around 1100 cals
I'm down to have 41g fat per day = always come in around 20g
I'm down to have 170g carbs per day = always come in around 150g
I'm down to have 73g protein per day = always come in around 95g

Now, is this going to be a problem with my protein? I never used to come in over with my protein, but since starting 'Insanity', I've introduced a protein shake each day which contains 26g protein. This now takes me over my daily allowance. Should I be trying to cut down on the other protein items I'm eating through the day?

If someone could help me I'd really appreciate it. I always see people doing all this % ratio's and per lb and per kilo - I just get totally confused!! :ohwell:

I'm 5ft 4" and currently weigh 136lbs.

Thanking all of you in advance for your help :flowerforyou:

Lots of protein helps you stay lean!!! My daily goal is 125g (or round abouts) and I'm on 40% carb 40% protein 20% fat. Also you should always try and hit 1200 NET calories!

EDIT: you can edit you daily goals my going to my home, goals, change goals

To start MFP has a pretty low protein %... and now that you are doing an intense workout you need that protein to feed your muscles so they grow and continue to burn fat. Going over on protein is a good thing!

you dont need to use a protein shake. you get enough with your normal diet.

Your protein intake is fine. I normally get around 120 grams of protein a day so I'm always over what MFP says. I consume a whey isolate protein drink directly after I strength train to help with my muscle recovery. I also drink one after I do HIIT.
