Hectic Work Schedule...

Does anyone else have the same problem... Monday - Thursday I work from 2:00pm - 7:00pm at one job and then work at a hospital from 11:00pm - 7:00am. Friday - Sunday are the only days I feel like a normal person because I actually get 8 - 10 hours of sleep at NIGHT. Otherwise, I usually only sleep for about 4 hours from 8 - 12 in the morning after getting off work. With that, I feel like I'm always running on "E", which in turn makes me reach for the sweets and unhealthy - contributing to my 10 pound gain since January. =(

Can anyone offer some input on how to manage my schedule a little better - I'm trying to get used to the night shift since I will be starting Nursing School in the Fall and want to be able to continue to work during. Thanks so much in advance!

    i work night shift, and i go to school during the day.

    its tough, but with planning you can eat healthy. i pack everything i'm going to eat for the night and breakfast (before school). i eat right before i leave work at 7am for school at 8am so i'm not reaching for bad food. i go on little sleep too..i wake up and fix all my food, my dinner, my work lunch and my breakfast for the next morning..what helps me is i eat healthy choices or amys or some other organic natural prepackaged foods. so i all have to do is microwave. i bring greek yogurt with me too as a part of my breakfast before school.

    also i go to the gym on mornings I dont have school.
    like i said..its all about planning and bringing your food to work with you. its not that tough..i wake up like an hour and half before work to get ready for work and fix my food. (i live 5 mins from work)

    I have a difficult week day schedule too! Tues, wed, Thurs i wake at 5:30am for work, Some days are 4 hr shifts, but 1 8 hr so the latest i leave is 1pm. i also have school at 5;15pm-10:45pm for massage therapy Mon- Thurs. The Only normal days i feel are Fri, Maybe Sat, Sun, and Monday Morning. I can sleep in those days, but it takes me all weekend to rehibilitate and i dont JUST rest, i study too and try to get other things taken care of, LUCKLY im almost done this schedule and i can get a better eatting schedlue in order!!

    I get up between 4 and 5am depending on the day and then Wed-Fri when I get off from the first job I head into the second until about 10pm. I generally try to exercise in the morning but I HAVE to exercise in the AM Wed-Fri otherwise I simply don't have the time. I also volunteer on Sat from 10A-5p on my days off so those are busy as well. That being said I pretty much do what's already been said; plan and prep meals the night before and then get up in the AM finish them up, pack and go. It's not always perfect but having it planned and ready to go helps a lot.
