Back in february I started my weight loss mission since then I have fell off the wagon but I have maintained my loss of 13 pounds (I have no idea how) i did have a gym membership but I would pretty much do an hour on the elliptical and some weights. I have 30 day shred and I would like to put together a routine I can do at home with jillian michael's dvds. So I need some recommendations I guess 30 day shred would be considered circuit training so I want a cardio dvd and another dvd to throw in but im not sure what. Also do you feel if you don't have the right foods in your house hold there is no point in working out? My family pretty much eats junk and I feel like you need to eat good and work out to lose weight.

I think that eating right is probably more important than exercise. Obviously both is the best way, but if you're only going to do one I definately would choose the eating right.

Throw in a Yoga DVD. (If you have it) Netflix has several fitness videos. It has the Situation's (Jersey Shore) fitness video on instant streaming.

I disagree on no point in working out if you don't have the right foods. If I eat somthing bad or ate to much, I try to stay active, for example do some house chores.

I think you should start changing your family's eating habits. I'm trying to change my family's eating habits. I didn't tell them I was going to change the way we eat; I just started to look for healthier options. I buy popcorn instead of chips, stock up on fruit, and buy 100% juice instead of coke. I was surprised now how my kids reacted to the changes. They still don't know it is healthier for them.

If you are not head of your household, start buying your own groceries or control your portions, and don't give up on working out.

Yes, the eating part is the most important. Get a grip on your diet and you will be well on your way.

I would not try to write up your own program. There are so many good ones out there. If you're interested in weights, check out "The New Rules of Lifting for Women". If you want to do cardio, try changing it up with a HIIT session instead of just running on the treadmill.
