I went for a run this morning, It was hot I was soaked, I needed to refresh myself, so I took my watch off and jump in the pool. Holy crap after swimming like 15-20min, When I got out I realized I had not taken my chest strap off, is that bad? did I just bread it? is it waterproof?

I own the gamin 4runner 305

It's probably fine, but you might want to take the battery out and let it dry out.

I have a Garmin as well and it will probably be ok. It says on the instructions that the chest strap can be washed so I would think being in a pool would be fine. I would let it dry then try to use it and see if it works. If it doesn't work, you can order a new one off Amazon for about 20 bucks or so.

It'll be fine. The chest straps can be washed and they have to be water-proof (to a certain extent) due to sweating while wearing them!

Triathletes swim with them alot, so no problem. Your watch? Not so much unless it's the 310xt.
