I wanted to know if anyone has an issues with their ribs hurting when they lay down on either side?

I've just noticed lately that when I go to bed at my my right side seems to hurt and I have to lay on the opposite so it doesnt. I drink 8-10 glasses of water daily, eat between 1200-1400cals, and mainly jogging.

Anyone's ribs hurt/sore like that?

not my ribs, but I do notice that a lot of the padding has left...so my knees press together uncomfortably when I'm lying on my side, and my butt hurts more when sitting on hard surfaces.

    Maybe that's what is happening?

Wow, 65lb. loss! That's amazing and it would make me echo LL by saying you're probably a bit more boney, which is causing the discomfort. Perhaps you could get a memory foam for your bed. If it's something that is persistant though, never hurts to run in for a check up!

I am no Doctor.....if you can not recall having done anything to cause the pain, and depending on the severity of the pain, I would suggest going to see your physician for a check up. It could be anything, and for anyone on here to speculate what that might be, would be poor advice. Listen to your body.

Im thinking you're right because I noticed Im feeling my hips more when I lay on my side too. Geez I guess the padding did help at times....but Id rather have less of it :)

First, congrats!! Second, do you see a chiropractor? I had that happen to me, and it turned out that I'd put two ribs out of place, but it hurt all the time, not just when I laid down.

Maybe it's time for a new mattress? They're only good for 10-15 years, and that's if you flip them regularly.

I use to see a chiropractor before, it felt soo nice having my bones cracked too. I'll have to consider if it gets worse.

I have a protruding rib cage and sometimes sitting up straight can actually hurt me. I've been thinking of wearing some shapewear or a corset at night while I sleep to try and correct it.

I used to work in mattress sales (don't hate me for it) and even a Sealy pillowtop can be hard on the side and hips and the better the mattress, the worse the hardness unless it has just a really thick topper. Pressure points can be a tough one and I am just finding mine again. You can add a mattress topper and this should help. The best you can get are from Cuddle Ewe. http://www.cuddleewe.com/detail.aspx?ID=1

The Tempurpedic Toppers are great too, but either of these are expensive. There are other memory foam toppers that are decent too and cost less. http://www.amazon.com/Sleep-Better-3-Inch-Elastic-Mattress/dp/B000A8BU9W

    Good luck!

I definitely dont hate you for it, in fact I APPRECIATE it...I guess the sales guy just didnt give me the right info...bast**d lol. I'll have to get a topper if it gets any worse. Its just uncomfortable in general. Thank you!

No problem, just noticed we are in the same town. Hopefully the lying salesman was not one of my old buddies. What I can tell you is that being in sales for 15 years is that we usually think we know what we are talking about, but that is not always the case. Also, with mattresses, you really cannot tell unless you sleep on it.
