did i get that right? you are working out, take a break for a minute to drink and pause your hrm.. when you continue work out you turn it back on? that doesn't make any sense? and gives you false results in addition to that.

I wouldn't pause it. You are usually still moving around when take the water breaks.

I never paused mine, I figured it wouldn't have been accurate for the length of time and the overall heart rate. Heart Rates on HIIT training are somewhat objective anyway in whether you are getting specific or overall based upon your style of monitor, mine gives me an average, not a specific if my gps isn't on. Your heart rate is dipping and raising in the HIIT, which I always considered a part of the program - the length of breaks really isn't enough to make that much of a difference IMO unless you are taking breaks - a lot of them - and pausing the DVD for longer than the "scheduled" break.

Are you concerned your calories burned aren't accurate?

When I did Insanity - I burned an average of 400 calories on hard days - one person in my group was close to me - but one of the guy was burning 1200 per session - it can depend on so many different factors - how does your HRM rate with other activities?
