Water weight...... what exactly does this mean?

I hear people saying they have lost a couple of pounds and hope its not water weight.... I only just started drinking water again since re-starting my goals and have lost weight since then even with drinking heaps of water. how much water weight do we have? and because i didn't drink water before this, how can i lose water weight?

    keep your sodium levels low.....I believe this is what helps with that:smile:

    I JUST finished reading this blog entry and it answered a ton of questions for me, though I'm not sure if all of it is 100% true (when it comes to how much water we should drink in a day), it is really useful and it'll answer a lot of questions for you as well I hope.

    People usually loose water weight at the beginning of a diet. Sodium and not having enough water in your system will cause you to hold water, so as your body gets used to more water, you will loose the water you were retaining.
