Sad, frustrated and disappointed

At the beginning of the year I did so well and lost 17 lbs. Then I met my boyfriend and we were eating out all the time. I did ok at first with making healthier choices, but soon slid off the wagon. I then had to have knee surgery so that put me down for another few weeks. I had gained back pretty close to every pound and was incredibly upset with myself. I had undone all the hard work I did. I was extremely disappointing. Now for the past several weeks I have been back at it eating well and exercising, but the pounds are NOT coming off. When I work out, I work out hard and get the most out of every moment that I have. I'm eating enough calories, but that may have to change too. The scale is not moving, the clothes are not getting looser and I'm just downright sad about it. I dont know what else to do to really get this going. I've always known the right way to do this and what exactly will work, but all those things are not working right now. Ugh, I'm so frustrated!!!

If it makes you feel ANY better, I lost 33 pounds last year and gain most of it back. Don't give up, it may be frustrating now but you have GOT to step back and see the bigger picture. How will you look in 6 months....a year? Bigger picture =]

Keep your chin up. All of us fall off the wagon. I've been slipping and now I'm trying to watch the fat and not let the weekends I have my kids trip me up. Think of it as being healthy and not a diet. Also make sure you are getting enough sleep. You did it once before and you can do it again. Good luck!

You may want to switch up your workout routine daily. One day add some weights in, one day do the elliptical, the next day the stairclimber. Don't let your body get used to one repetitive workout.

Also, I've heard alot of reports lately that state that lifting BEFORE cardio actually burns more fat. Of course, you need to make sure you are still doing a warm up so you're not lifting with cold muscles. The reports are saying that the weight lifting first will burn the sugar, then by the time you do cardio, all you're burning is fat.

And hang in there. Many of us are in the same boat. We all lfall off the wagon and we all get frustrated. I'm working my butt off and the scale is barely moving, but I'm keeping faith because I know I'm eating well and working out daily. The weight will come off, and in the meantime, I have the satisfaction of knowing I'm HEALTHY!

    Good Luck to you!
