Need a filling breakfast!

I'm having my wisdom teeth taken out at 1:30 on Thursday and I can't eat anything 6 hours prior so I am going to need a good breakfast. Any suggestions as to what might be able to help me make it through the day? I am worried I am going to feel weak by the time the afternoon rolls around. I normally eat smaller things throughout the day so this will be a challenge!

Don't worry about being hungry. You aren't going to want to eat right after you have had surgery.
My advice, the second you get out of surgery put ice all around your mouth on both sides of your face, if you do this it significantly reduces the swelling. I did it and my face never looked like a chipmunk.0 -
I would suggest oatmeal, toast with PB and some fruit. I would probably stay away from the eggs-bacon type foods, and coffee might not be the best thing either (unless it is decaf). Been there, done that - get better soon! :flowerforyou:0

I agree with having Oatmeal. Especially the Quaker Weight Control kind because it is high in fiber, which will keep you fuller longer. I generally don't each lunch until about 1:30, without snacking in between breakfast and lunch, and that keeps me until then. Although, I do see your concern because that is an awfully long time to go without eating. You can't move the appointment to be first thing in the morning?0

Greek style yogurt! I had some this morning and it took me forever to finish because it was so filling!0

I would say any high fiber cereal, as well as a fruit and a protein!!! My fav. is bananas with peanut butter!!0

Make your own oatmeal. I would steer clear of the packets because they contain so much sugar. Make your own with rolled or steel cut oats cooked in water, then throw in whatever you like. I like doing a combo of ground flax, bananas, a nut butter and some nuts on top. Lots of healthy fats and fiber to keep me full til 1 or 2.0

not to scare ya, but have something soft and high in protein for dinner ready for you.
I had split pea soup and it was just what the dr ordered.0 -

One of my favorites!!! I do the same thing- oatmeal w/ flax, either natural PB or walnuts, and 1/2 scoop of protein powder. Yummy!
Good luck w/ your surgery!
