What is the difference?

I want to know the difference between cardio and fat burn programs on the treadmill. Which one burns more calories? Last time I chose fat burn program for 45 minutes and I burned only 310 calories.

    I believe, dependent upon the machine, that the "cardio" setting is designed to improve your cardiovascular performance, where as the "fat burn" setting will be to keep your heart rate in the "fat burn" zone. I don't remember the specifics (or how accurate either) but I believe the fat burning zone is a lower heart rate, although still elevated. Cardio is a much higher heart rate for performance and not necessarily for fat burning alone. Again, this is just what I've read. Others may have more specific or correct information.

    I'm pretty sure the fat burning is lower intensity.. the cardio is higher for longer to achieve the cardiovascular effects. Needless to say, if you do the cardio, you're burning fat too.
