My coworkers and I have talked about starting an 8-week wellness competition and are looking for ideas.

So far we came up with:

* Weekly mini challenges, nutrition and fitness related. Examples - Try 3 new fruits or veggies, walk at least 30 minutes/5 times per week etc.
* Pedometer - aim for 10.000 steps per day
* Meet your daily 8 cups of water.
* We are trying to get a TV hooked up, so that we can play Wii at lunch. Not sure if this will work. (We have no workout facility in our building)
*Bring Hula-Hoops.

A weightloss competition for the coworkers who want to participate in that part (a few either don't want to, or are actually trying to gain weight).

Did you guys do any similar suggestions? What worked well, what didn't? We have a staff of about 25.

Thank you for your input!

Elke

Good idea! Its easier to lose when there others and some friend competition. Does your boss ever bring in any food, like on friday or coffee or something? Maybe ask her to bring in a fresh fruit platter instead of bagles or juice instead of coffee. Also, do a weigh in every other week and have a mini prize. Maybe everyone pools a $1 for that weigh in and the winner gets a gift card, worth the pool, to target or a nice fitness gift, pedometer, weights, yoga mat........

    Good Luck!
