I found a really good and effective 20 minute workout that I did the day before yesterday and I planned on dong it every other day and on the off days, doing 50 crunches and 50 pushups (im trying to make my arms look very toned and a little muscly). Well Im thinking it is from the push ups but my sternum hurts, kind of like as if im wearing a really constricting bra, is that normal? I had to take my actual bra off as it hurt and felt like someone was pushing on my rib cage. I can breathe fine its just my sternum hurts, shall I carry on and do the workout anyway today? The 20 minute workout has two sets of push ups in it, two sets of 25 reps, or shall I skip them today?

Does it feel like a muscle or more bone? I know the first few days that we started including sit-ups in our workout we were both really sore in that whole area. I couldn't tell you specifically which area was more painful but we did not do any push-ups. It went away after a few days if you're experiencing the same thing. You could always call like a nurse hotline and ask...

I get that too!!! It hurts and causes me a lot of anxiety:(

I think it is up to you, I switched to yoga and it is getting better. Comes from the cartilage. My doctor is aware of it and gave me some cream for it. Maybe see your doctor before pushing it too hard.

you definitely would feel it in your chest from the pushups, especially if you are new to doing them. If you are in that much pain, I wouldn't do it today. give it another day and see how you feel. It is always important to listen to your body.
