Does anyone else have a Wii Fit and use it as part of their exercise routine?

I would love to talk with all of you about what works for you, your goals, your progress, etc.

  • I have one and love it! I don't count it, though, and use it mainly on my off days. I am heavy enough to where if I do it right, I really get a good workout that is just about equal to my regular workouts.
  • Oh and as for what I do...

I do the jogging (longer/advanced version), the advanced hula, and the step aerobics (also the advanced/longer version). I do all those exercises non-stop for about 30 - 45 minutes and then do about 15 to 20 minutes of the toning exercises (push-ups, side planks, etc). I find that really exaggerating my movements (like on doing the step aerobics and jogging) and also trying to go as fast as I can to beat my personal best (like on the hula) each time helps a great deal.

I know that as I get smaller, this might not always be the case, but for right now it works!

I have it and love it ... but I don't do it for my workouts. I finally got a gym membership. I like it to get an accurate weight and bmi reading. Plus, its nice to have a weigh to track progress. When I do use it, I use it for yoga and some of the strength things. Even then, I'm breaking a good sweat.

I don't have one but it's funny to see this post this morning because I had a dream last night that I was at a store and they had a 'Wii Fit" on sale for $20!!! So I grabbed one! It was a "Wii Fit--Olympic Track Edition"--I usually have great details in my dreams. Anyway, no idea if they even have an Olympic Edition much less one with track stuff but it was a COOL dream! :glasses:

I too was intriguied by this post this morning because my husband came home with a Wii Fit last night!

I had fun and wore my heart monitor as I went through the various exercises. I burned 370 calories :noway: It was fun, not something I am going to use as a weight training program, but certainly it will be fun on days when the weather is bad and I can't run outside or on my off days. I am hoping to do something every day with it.

    I had fun!

Yes, I usually don't get around to doing much of it except on the weekend; ocassionally I can get a couple days in during the week days. I usually will start off with the yoga routine, then do the Super Hoola Hoop for 6 minutes and jog or 11 or 20 minutes and that usually does it for me. I'm so out of shape that the routine will be enough... when I over did it I did most of the strength training also.
