How do you avoid injury?

I have been doing bootcamp for a couple of months and also now doing yoga and C25K. I am worried about injury -- of course everything hurts but so far I've been ok. I have some sort of plantar fasciitis and that is about it. Any tips from the pros on how to avoid injury or overdoing it? What would overdoing it look like for someone not in great (but not terrible) shape?

From my old running days I remember icing the arch and breaking up the crystals that have formed there. I also recalled using an insert to support my arch. I am no pro, but at least I got the topic rolling. :happy:0
