Women always complain about bloating during their period...but today is my 3rd day of my period, and I'm down 4 lbs from what I was on Sunday morning? LOL and my waist is down 2 inches...LOL wtf? Is that normal? My weight does fluctuate a bit...but I was going up and down from 295 to 300 and this morning I'm 293...

Bad thing is, that my body comp yesterday showed I lost quite a bit of muscle mass in the past week and a half. :blushing: I need to eat more protein. *sighs* I was down 3.5 lbs total weight though. I don't know how much was body fat.

  • Could the loss of muscle mass actually be water weight gain? I think you may just have to wait and see what your weight and readings come out to a week or so after your period is over. I'd be curious to hear what the difference is.
  • Most women retain water (hence feeling of being "bloated") for a couple of days prior to their period. Then, the water comes out and it looks like you've lost a lot of weight. Plus/minus couple of pounds is really water fluctuations in your body.

I think the body comp knows the difference between muscle and water...they take it very seriously but I don't know how accurate it is? They put electrodes on my hand and foot and it's supposed to tell them.
