Rate the name
Has had one name for my future daughter stuck in my head and in my dreams for the past few weeks and it's making me clucky lol, The name is Matilda Rose Lingard, I love it but don't know how nice it actually sounds for other people so I thought that I would ask for people on here to rate it. Thank you Matilda is definitely my first choice for a girls name.

It is a lovely name, very old school. Think of what she may get pinned with as she grows up Milly, Tilley, Mil, Mat, etc. Remember kids have to live with their name long after you are gone . Some of the new age names are way out there and I just can't imagine a child growing up being called Moonbeam all their lives. The choice is yours, bet once you hold her in your arms the right decision will be made. Seeing the litte face always makes the choice easier.0

I love the name Matilda Rose, saying it in my head, certainly has a nice ring!! sure it might get shorten to Millie, Mil, Tilda or Mat, but those shortened versions are not bad either! Also you could make sure that it does not start too early on i.e. family and friends shortening her name...lol: people tried it with my daughter (Nikita!), but I kept correcting them and said if I wanted to call her Kita, Kit, Nik etc, I would of named her that lol:lol....now she's 13 she likes her friends to call her Kita! go figure! Anyhooo! this isn't about me! So yeah, love the names, are you going to call her Matilda Rose or just Matilda....I like the ring of Matilda Rose!0

I believe people need to name their children with meaning .....
With that said Matilda is a beautiful name I think and it flows very well with Rose being the middle name .... Even more interesting Matilda is a German and English name meaning "Powerful Battler" .... Sounds like you may have a string willed woman to raise ....0 -

Yeah I thought so too, Yeah I guess so , Yeah that was why I picked the name Matilda and then the Rose bit came to me in a ongoing dream, one that I hope doesn't come true, I wanted an old kind of unique name, yeah I know and I can't wait for that moment.0 -

If you love it, go for it. Matilda Rose is a beautiful name! Yes, people will prob come up with their own nicknames for her but that's the way it goes sometimes. Matty has a nice ring to it for a nickname.
My youngest son's name is a bit unusual and people HATED it when I told them, Of course now, everyone loves it and can't possibly imagine him being called anything else! And the nickname thing? Well when he was 3 he got tired of people asking him what his name was again and again, so he said just call me 'Q" and guess what? It stuck0 -
