Dukan Diet?????

Has anyone tried this and is it something anyone should try to jusmp start the weight loss????

    Just be careful. The British Dietetic Association branded it one of the "Five Worst Diets of 2011". There's very little scientific evidence to back it up.

    I read the book. Atkins didn't work for me, so I doubt that Dukan will. Plus, it says diabetics shouldn't do it, so I'm not going to.

    Yes, I think it will jump start your weight loss. The first few days to 2 weeks is only lean protein. The next phase (length depends on how much weight you need to lose) is lean protein days alternated with lean protein and veggie days. The next phase (length depends on how much weight you lost) adds foods back in. The final phase (life time) is to eat what you want, but one day a week must be lean protein only (same day each week).

    Eating only lean proteins will likely cause you to eat very few calories, which will cause weight loss and you will probably lose a lot of water weight at first.

    There are some studies that say it is bad on the kidneys and some that say it isn't. I'd read them all and decide for yourself.
