trying to make low/no sodium pickles..question
so, the recipe calls for pickling spice, and i chose mccormic..their website says "This product has no significant nutritional value per 1/4 tsp. serving" does that mean there is no cals/fat/sodium/sugars, etc ? i still want to log it in the recipe, but i want to be 100% sure 1st..thanks !!:drinker:

Ingredients are: CINNAMON, ALLSPICE, MUSTARD SEED, CORIANDER, BAY LEAVES, GINGER, CHILIES, CLOVES, BLACK PEPPER, MACE, CARDAMOM, AND SULFITING AGENTS.
If you use it in large quantities it will have a small calorie content and possibly a small sodium content based on the sulfiting agents (not sure exactly what that is) but you can safely assume that it will not add any significant calories/sodium to your recipe.0 -
Did those pickles turn out good? I am a pickle fanatic and they on occasion take me way over (like six pickles in a row) on my sodium.0
