What is your daily eating routine?

I am just curious to know as I am starting to realize that "grazing" all day long, like every few hours on wholesome food is getting me better results than eating three large meals a day...not to mention i have a 9 month old and that doesn't allow for gourmet cooking!
I am going to get grocieries tomorrow and I just wanted ideas. I was thinking of getting lots of fruits and veggies, but i want protein as well. Like maybe for one snack i would do frozen berries and yogurt, then for another carrots and low fat dip and some other item, then another almonds, etc.
So what is your daily eating routine? What do you eat and when do you eat it?

I really like having the Chobani greek yogurt champions (its the kids portion) and some blueberries...or I love the Blue Diamond dark chocolate almonds, they totally curb any sweet/chocolate craving without the guilt of them being chocolate covered.0

I graze on fruit all day.
I usually get up around 8 am, do the school run, either go for a run or to a class, breakfast around 11am, lunch at 1pm, snack at 4 to 5pm, evening meal at about 8.30pm.0 -

yum! Those Greek yogurts are heavenly!0

At work I will eat before work (5:20 am), at work (9:00 am) and again a small snack at work (1:00 pm)
then I will come home and have another snack (3:00pm) and usually spend the rest of the night (3-9pm) trying to figure out how I am going to eat 1000+ calories in a few short hours!!
I find it more natural feeling to me to graze about on the foods I bring with me to work. It sucks when I forget foods and the healthiest choices I have are an expensive and small fruit dish (4 bucks for 10oz ) or a 50 cent bag of unhealthy combo cheese crackers ;_;0 -

Nice!
Is eating dinner at 8:30pm due to choice (is it better to eat before bed since you fast while you sleep?) or is it due to a lack of time? Just curious, as I have heard mixed reviews on eating late and I really dont know what to think. Plus, when i eat dinner (after DH gets home from work at 5pm) i am ALWAYS hungry later and thats when I tend to eat the bad stuff :blushing:0 -
Frigo lite swirl string cheese is a very satisfying snack and the calories are not too high (60)0

My husband gets home at 7pm, and then baths the children, they go to bed at 8pm, so we just don't get a chance to eat before then. I grew up having my evening meal between 8 and 9pm, though. That is normal for my family. I never go to bed before midnight, so it's not like I am eating last thing at night.0 -
I eat every 2-3 hours. Protein and carb with every meal. Sometimes I skip the carb on my final meal if I've already hit my target. Ideally I should be eating vegetables with as many meals as possible, but I don't eat nearly enough veggies.0

Breakfast around 650-7am if I and cooking one, otherwise bagle with cream cheese around 830am, snack around 1030am normally Multigrain Cheerios (dry), lunch 1230pm WW meal or sandwich, snack around 3-330pm normally a FiberOne 90 calorie bar then dinner between 6-7pm depending on if I have to cook it and it is some kind of meat and whole grain carb and a veggie and I normally allow calories for a sweet snack after dinner.0

I try to workout in the AM so I have an Adkins protein shake after the gym (it's like a slimfast w/o the sugar) around 7:15
around 10-10:30 I wll have either light vanilla yogurt w/ berries or oatmeal
lunch around 1pm...varies but I usually try to pick something for the week. Cuts down on waste/what I need to buy and tends to be cheaper
3 or 3:30 something around 100-150 calories (100 clorie kettle corn is a fav, or greek yogurt)
dinner usually arounf 6:30 ...changes daily but I use dinner as my biggest meal
maybe a treat/snack if i want around 8-9
usually in bed around 10:30 and get up at 5am0 -
I usally eat a banana and have a glass of water when the kids wake up (around 6:30). Then I eat breakfast with the kids (around 8). Lunch at noon. I work out during kids naps (around 1:30) and eat a small snack (around 3). Eat dinner at 6. Then have another snack around 8:30 or 9.
I can not snack all day instead of eating meals. But my favorite snacks are almonds, whole wheat toast with natural peanut butter, greek yogurt, reduced fat string cheese and apples.0 -
Breakfast at 9am, snack at 11am, lunch at 12:30, snack at 3pm, snack at 5pm, workout 6 - 8ish, dinner 8pm.
My meals aren't huge, I need to eat every couple of hours!!
Snacks - Fruit, pistachios, smoothie of greek yogurt and strawberries, rice crackers with laughing cow.
@ Falling2Grace -- I also eat dinner late, I haven't had any issue losing weight. There are actually quite a few people on MFP who eat late and they are all losing as well (I was reading a thread about this yesterday). Calories in, calories out... doesn't matter when you eat them.0 -
I have found that if I do not eat within 20 -30 minutes of being awake, then I crave crappy carbs all day. So, I eat as soon as I can when I get up, which is between 5:30-6:00. Oatmeal with some fresh fruit and a dash of splenda in it or eggs normally. If I must run out the door, I eat an oatmeal raisin clif bar.
I try to eat some nuts or some fruitor veggies by 10.
I eat my lunch between 11:30 - 12:30....depending on what is going on on the farm
I eat another snack, nuts or fruit usually, maybe veggies or a clif bar or a larabar, by 3:30
Then we eat dinner somewhere between 5:30 - 7:30.... if we eat later then I usually have a small snack, perhaps 10 nuts or a small banana....between the 3:30 snack and dinner.
I have found too that if I small throughout the day instead of heavy 2 or 3 times, that I don't crave junk food or diet coke.0 -

Just wondering, what time do you go to bed, because I seem to have problems when I eat past 8pm and I usually go to bed around 10-11pm. Does eating that late not seem to slow down your loss?
Well I guess I should have read all the posts before asking this, because you already answered it. Thanks!0 -
On gym days or days when food is disgusting in the morning (not a morning person), I drink a glass of water, take my allergy pill, vit D and 1 prescription pill + at least 8 oz of water. (usually around 7am)
One hour later I have a snack. typically ~15 almonds or a protein shake with unsweetened rice or almond milk and a tbsp of almond butter. Sometimes I add a bit of fruit and flaxseed powder to this.
4x's a week I do water aerobics. I then have a big breakfast afterwards usually a vegetable omelet and home fries. Non gym days I still have an egg but may may also switch that out for either rice chex cereal or quinoa with cranberries and almond milk.
Lunch is usually a salad . I change up with what I put in it. But I always make my own dressings, and almost always have an avocado in it.
Snack is usually fruit. Right now I'm enjoying the summer berries and melons.
Dinner is between 7 and 8.
I try to drink between 8 - 16 oz of water with each meal and at least 8 with snacks.
I have insomnia so I go to bed between 12 and 2am most nights.0 -
Breakfast at 5:30 am (either tuna melt w/ half baked grapefruit or chicken sausage on sandwich round w/half of a bake grapefruit)
Snack between 9:30-10am (either celery and peanut butter, bananas w/melted peanut butter or apples w/melted peanut butter)
Lunch 12:30-1pm (either chicken tenders or tailpia w/sweet potatoes or edamames or spinach)
Snack 4pm-5pm (0% Fage greek yogurt mixed with a little heavy whipping cream, vanilla exact, sweetner & fresh strawberries or blueberries)
Dinner 8pm (Chicken breast or tailipia or flounder w/sweet potato, and either, broccoli, spinach or sweet mini corn)
All meats are baked.
If I strength train I also have a protein shake directly afterwards.0
