In need of support

I have GREAT friends who are supportive, when I remind them to be. They all do weight watchers, so what may be zero points for them is really 200 calories for me. I lost 16 pounds last summer and hit my goal weight. But, I've put it all back on this school year (I am a special ed teacher). I need someone who is willing to be my friend and help keep me motivated - simply by checking in with me. Is anyone willing to help this struggling soul?

Thank you!
Jo

I'd be glad to help. I'm also looking for a person to motivate me by checking in with me and giving me help. I also reached my goal in the past and maintained it. in fact, i was a trainer (probono) for a few years and then found that I started to gain weight. I got married, bought and sold homes, gained a new family (happily) and changed jobs in the past 2 years. I've gained back the weight and then some. i'm ready to start fresh and am very excited to have a buddy to help/and to be helped through this journey toward a fit lifestyle. P.S. I'm a social worker so i understand the pressure of working with folks.

Hi Joteacher! My name is Shoshannah aka Boomsmom.

Friend me! It really works when you have someone on your side all the time. I know what you mean. I have lots of support at home (family and friends) and they give me lots of it, but sometimes it helps to have it from someone else. MFP has been my rock through this journey and I feel more accountable. You know my husband is great, but he sometimes comes out with snide little comments that are really annoying. Like yesterday I put on a pair of jeans that had just come out of the dryer and it is TTOM, he says "Gaining a little weight huh!" So I said "Give me a break, I just took these out of the dryer and I have my . and then Hello! I've lost 43 lbs, how about you?" Shut him up quickly. I think he's a little jealous. I'm looking good!! I keep getting comments from people at work too. But once again MFP freinds are always their for me. Sorry I'm rambling!!!

You can do it. (By the way - I'm a Music Therapist and a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist - I work with children and adults with special needs. So I know how much fun it can be and how stressful as well.) So we have more in common there.
