Toning muscle vrs building muscle?

So I was wondering what exactly is the difference between the two? I know weight repititons are different but I don't exactly understand what toning muscle is really after all isn't building muscle making it defined, shaped and making you stronger? Thanks you guys.

    Technically, there is no such thing as toning. There is endurance, strength and building.....the difference being in the amount of weights you lift and the sets/reps that you do. Of course caloric /protein intake would also play a part in it too, especially in the building of muscle :flowerforyou:

    There is no difference between the two, but the heavier you lift, the faster you'll tone.
