Exercise Calories burned estimates.

First lets just say i'm in very decent physical condition be it strength wise or being able to run/jog around etc, etc. I worked in my garden pretty much hoeing weeds for 2.5 hours. According to MFP that particular exercise which take my word is very physical work burned 929 calories. I then took my motorcycle for about an hour run and that according to MFP burned 232 calories so in a matter of a few hours activity, i burned 1100+ exercise calories. I've already consumed 840 food calories with breakfast and lunch and am still negative 336 to be exact.
In all that action i'm not fatigued at all. I'm not energy deficient as in my hunger raging or me feeling i need to eat like i actually sometimes do feel. In order for me to reach my MFP daily goal i have about 2800 more calories to consume and that aint gonna happen. Thats more then my figured weight loss per day caloric intake without exercise.
I have a very physical job that requires climbing up and down all day as well as alot of heavy lifting. There is no way of actually telling how many calories i burn in a 10 hour shift. So we can assume at best the numbers on calories burned and exercise is just a guestimate? HRM's aren't accurate when it comes to calories burned so don't tell me to go buy one lol. They too are guestimates based on a formula. Your thoughts?

I agree. I know that physical activity, like running, aerobics, etc, can burn up to 600 calories an hour, but house cleaning? Doubtful.0

I sort of struggle with that, too, since everybody's metabolism is different and we all burn differently. I just use the calories burned here as a guide. I suppose if my body can burn 1800 calories a day while resting, then any activity will add to that.0

I got a 25 x 35 living room. Vacumming it is like mowing a lawn ;D So yeah you can burn serious calories house cleaning. People also need to realize that high impact cardio is not the most efficient exercise for burning fat or calories. Low end or less intense is far better for fat burning purposes.0 -

My living room is that large, not to include the rest of my house which is also carpeted. I only burn a little over 100 calories for my entire house, and I DO trust my HRM to be a close estimate of calories burned.0
