Being an amazing domestic goddess i've decided to bake my own bread tomorrow. My question is when working out the values do i just add up all the ingredients & divide by the number of slices or does the reaction of the yeast & sugar do anything to alter the nutrional values? Maybe it sounds crazy but i just wondered as the yeast uses the sugar in the bread to multiply itself does that then mean theres no sugar? I could make myself crazy working this out please someone help me:*)

  • Add up individual ingredients, divide my number of slices, profit:-)

Enter all ingredients in the recipe feature here, tell it how many slices you can cut it into and it will provide the calories per slice.
  • When you go to the food tab, you can click on "Recipes" at the top, and then on the right "Enter New Recipe" and enter all the ingredients as well as the number of servings. I've done this for my own homemade bread (and other) recipes and it works wonderfully - then you can directly add that item to your day instead of having to enter each individual ingredient or find a substitute someone else has made. Good luck!

    THIS

the recipe feature on here is easy and accurate, and it will be saved on your profile for when you make the bread again

bump - interesting question - I love making bread myself, but just entered the ingredients on the recipe question and went on with it. I don't know if it would make a noticable difference what the yeast consumes and converts.
