I'm anxiously waiting for dinner time. Not because I'm hungry- but because I'm bored! I've done good on resisting the urge to go raid the kitchen though.

But WHAT DO I DO TO ENTERTAIN MYSELF!!!!?
The boyfriend is working and IDK when he'll be home, and the kids are playing so well. Dishes are done, laundry is in the wash...

Oh so bored!

It is WAY to hot outside...I am NOT taking the kids out there!

I am waiting for dinner time because my tummy is grooowwwling! Boredom? keep a notebook of ideas/topics regarding nutrition, weight loss, exercise, etc. When bored or have time, as in my case, I yahoo! the topics and continually learn.

Something else? I know in your head you have a list of chores you have put off... pick at those. I hate doing it but I hate not doing it even more.

Play word games with your kids.

Go for a walk. Take the kids to the park and spend time playing with them. You will be exercising and even no it. Time will go fast.

The journal thing sounds like a good idea!
As for the chores, honestly everything really is done. Except mopping the kitchen/hall/bathroom. but i cant do that with the kids here unless the boyfriend is here to keep them entertained in the living room or else they just run through it.

Same here!! I just sent my husband and kids to the movies where it's cool inside (Thank heavens for "Pirates") and I'm heading for a pedicure!! I figure it will keep me from snacking ;-)

To keep your little ones occupied and have some fun -- do you have any exercise videos? For some reason, kids seem to like working out with mommy and the TV! Either that, or take a "family nap" or, if you have cool whip or shaving cream, use it to "paint pictures" on the kitchen table (if you use shaving cream, it will disinfect the table at the same time).

Good luck -- enjoy them while they're little..... pretty soon you'll have a houseful of teenagers!!

Do you have exercise video you can do while the kids are playing well? A treadmill at home? Stairs you can climb?
Ok, honestly, I would read a book, but exercise of some kind is better for your body.

and, by the way, great job staying out of the kitchen!

it is fully entertaining and inspirational!
  • Could you play a board game with your kiddos? I don't know how young they are. We're limited to Ants in The Pants and Memory over here. :)

I started learning how to knit recently. You can find some good and easy how-to videos on youtube. I can do it while keeping an eye on my daughter PLUS it works as a stress reliever!

Reading a book is always a good idea. Or buy one of those sudoku books. They can get addicting though.

I find that if I keep my hands busy (even if it is just by coloring with my kid), I don't think about food as much.
