Disappointments...

I've just had a sausage sandwich as my Sunday morning brunch treat, and it was.......horrible!!! And totally not worth the almost 600 CALORIES that I allowed for it.

Don't worry; am off out for an hour swim to make up for it (of course after waiting the required one hour after eating) which is why I allowed myself the treat in the first place but I am just so disappointed about something I was looking forward to.

The good news is that I stopped eating it when I realised how unsatisfying it really was but I was wondering; has anyone else discovered food that you THOUGHT you would really enjoy but when it came down to it, now tasted horrid?? Vx

I used to eat McDonalds breakfast every morning on my way to work. I haven't had it for a couple of weeks since taking this losing weight thing seriously. I had it the other day, and it was a total let down. Instead of tasting the old yumminess and flavour, all I tasted was the oil and sugar. It was gross. I'm really glad though, because it will be a long time before I go back to it.

I haven't had bread in over a month, but I decided to buy a sandwich the other day. There was much regret later in the day.

Potato chips - I used to love it and now, although it still tastes OK, when I look at it I know immediaely how it is going to make me feel AFTER I have finished eating it so I don't even feel like trying it.

I would like to say that about BigMacs but they still taste heavenly. That is the only fast food that I still have occasionally when I can spare 580kcal!

That is great that you could quit eating it. i was in the line at our local dollar tree. my weakness is chocolate, well of course they have a line of candy bars in the front and i happened to pick one up to buy it. I can happily say that after looking at the calories I put it back down and bought the sugarless certs and only had 10 calories instead. it gave me the sugar rush i needed without all the calories.

I still crave Red dorrito chilli heatwave and they still taste awesome to me!!! but eating healthy does make you really appreciate the taste and flavour of fresh vegetables, fruit and ingredients.

Candy bars and coca cola and ben & jerries..the guilt afterwards just kills the pleasure of enjoying them :-(

I agree about th mcdonalds breakfast thing, I loved them, had a sausage and egg mcmuffin the other day and it was a complete let down to be honest.
Glad you managed to stop eating it and enjoy your swim!
