Have any of you ladies used progesterone cream for pre-menap

Due to an estrogen dominance situation I went off birth control and started progesterone cream to help balance things out. I'm having a hard time finding out what to expect other than longer term. I've read that it can initially exacerbate symptoms, but wondered how long that might last.
Anyone with any experience?
PS: This may not seem like much of a question for a weight loss forum, but one of my concerns that led to all this hormone jacking is rapid weight gain (30 pounds in 9 months).

My progesterone level was basically nonexistant. I was extremely tired all the time. I have been on bioidentical hormone replacement therapy for 2 years with a progesterone cream and have been happy with it. I do think the hormones being off does contribute to weight gain, I am at the point where I just need to get rid of the "Last 10 pounds" I do suggest you get a doctor who LISTENS to you and your symptoms and how you feel while taking the cream. My first doctor anything I said went in one year out the other. I switched doctors and now have a doctor who listens to me and my symptoms. Best of luck to you!0

Thanks, Roxiedo! I totally agree with the doctor who listens. I am on my second doctor, not necessarily because my GP didn't listen, I just think it is out of her body of knowledge. I'm now seeing an OB/Gyn who consulted with all my bloodwork with an endocrinologist.
Hopefully we are on the right track....I just wish I was a few months into it, so I could know that the symptoms will lessen and I have a shot of losing some of this weight. Do you happen to know how long after you started that you started seeing improvement?
Thanks so much for the info! Lori0 -
The fatigue/tiredness starting improving almost immediately within a few weeks. My doctor kept checking my levels every so often and adjusting the dosage of progesterone. Once we leveled out on that I only get my blood drawn if I start feeling new symptoms which has not happened yet. I really cannot remember but definitely a few months for the weight, but of course that includes eating healthy and dieting. Feel free to friend me if you want. Good Luck!0
