I just found some exercises to try to help tone and strengthen my core and am wondering when others started to notice a change in themselves after they started. I plan on taking pics as I go along, like every 2 weeks or so, but I'm thinking that it may be too often.

I noticed a change within a week or two. Pretty quickly. Faster than I saw visible results with just cardio.

I think if you take pics that often it might be too often. Maybe once a month. That way if you hit a plateau or something you won't get discouraged.
You might try taking measurments every week. For me numbers are more noticable than pictures right now.

I've tried measuring in the past and can't seem to figure it out. My numbers are all over the place. I'm not even sure that I'm measuring the correct spots. Well, besides the neck and thighs. lol.

You can find photograph diagrams that show you where exactly you should be measuring. I had this same issue and didn't even know how to measure my hips and waist. lol Google Images helped me! :)

  • Take pics once a month...and do not scale yourself more than once a week. If you do these things you will not get discouraged. If you scale yourself every other day you may only notice .5 pound or so but if you scale once a week you will see 2 pounds. Same with pictures, you may not notice a look in the difference of a picture that is only 2 weeks difference, but you will if you take one once a month.

I've only just begun strength training/toning four days ago and I can see results in my arms and thighs already.
But I think whether you see results quickly or not is very individual, and it also depends on what exercises you do and how much.

Don't forget, it might look like you're bulking up begin with, that puts a lot of women off. Once more body fat starts to melt away it'll look nicely toned :)
Strength training/toning is GREAT for weight loss and maintainence, the muscle mass will keep you burning those dang calories 24/7 :P

Good look and stay motivated! :D
