This isn't really very happy. Am I alone?

Is there anyone else that isn't really at all excited when they get to each mini-goal?

I thought I'd be excited when I hit ONEderland, but all it did was make me think about how much more I had to lose.

Today when I looked at my scale I was out of the 190's.

Still wasn't near as excited as I thought I'd be.

Am I the only person that feels this way? Is there something wrong with me?! Help!! <3

you gotta celebrate the small victories hun! Let yourself feel excited & happy. Don't let the idea of "what you have left to lose" take over how you should feel about what you've already lost. It's easy to kind of take that away from yourself (i have as well) but you have to know that you're like that, stop for a minute, and let yourself celebrate every pound. You deserve that :)

Be happy! Allow yourself to soak in the mini goal instead of looking at it like "I have so much more to go!" think of it as "look how far I've come!".

Crank up some great music and DANCE! You have done amazingly well. Your picture looks fabulous. Just add up all the pounds you've lost. It's amazing. To get this far means you can keep going and get where you want to be. If you need encouragement, add me as a friend.

Sadly I am the same way. I just want to lose all 50lbs and get it over with... I'm more excited when I fit into smaller clothes honestly. The scale lies to me a lot... it can make me really happy or really sad.
    That's why I don't make mini-goals.
But different things work for different people. Some people probably benefit from the mini-goals to keep them focused. I weigh myself, but at the end of the week I try on other pants to see how high up I can get them to really track my progress :) Also I do measurements. Three inches lost of my waist shows a lot more than 5lbs lost!

I think some people just have to get used to being successful and celebrating life's little victories. Did you happen to watch any of last season's Biggest Loser? Irene CONSISTENTLY put up good numbers and managed to make it all the way to the final 3, but she never showed any emotion until the last couple of episodes. She had spent so much of her life being so negative that she didn't know HOW to express how happy she was that she was making a difference in her life. Maybe you just need to realize that you ARE awesome, you ARE successful, and you HAVE accomplished something AMAZING! Keep up the good work!!

Yes, I have felt this way. I thought certain mini goals would actually be more exciting when I reached them. I'll keep going, but it's been a little disappointing.

I feel the same way! My first goal was 200lbs and that was a 30lb drop in 3 months. I know I should have been happy but all I could think was...OMG you still have so much to loose and then I kinda felt defeated when I should have been really happy. I agree with everyone that we should celebrate what we have been able to do so far, but it's nice to know that I'm not alone in the way I feel about the little goals!

    Keep up the great work!

The biggest disappointment was being under 200.
I really thought it'd feel amazing, but it kind of just made me feel more disordered than anything.

I never set any mini goals for myself. I have a weight I want to be, and I won't be happy until I get there. I take it one pound at a time. I'm getting closer and closer, but really, until I'm there, it doesn't seem REAL to me.

Definitely not alone. My scale hasn't budged all week but I lost 2" around my waist this week. Disappointing how slow it goes, but you just gotta have patience.

I've gone up & down this past week actually. I felt great for a couple of days when I really noticed that my tummy isn't sticking out quite as much and a couple of outfits looked better than before. So I started trying on a whole bunch of clothes in my closet and soon realized that they didn't look "that good" and I still have a ways to go before they do.

I also went shopping and was going to buy a bunch of new panties in a size X but realized pretty quickly that I still needed the 1X so then it wasn't nearly as much fun anymore. At least the ones I got aren't granny panties and they don't have holes in them!

I just keep picturing 14 pounds of butter and thinking that that's what's come off of me in 2 months and how it's just going to keep getting better & better the longer I stick with it. You're doing great! Just make sure you take the time to appreciate how far you've come instead of focusing on how far you have to go. ((((hugs))))

I think the biggest problem is that I don't see a change in myself.

As far as looking back at photos and things.

    I feel exactly the same.

And it's discouraging. Even though I've lost 30 pounds (as of today) on MFP, and 40 total.

Well said! I might just post THAT on my bathroom mirror! Or maybe better on the fridge door!

Try on some pants or shorts that used to be too tight. 40 lbs is a lot of weight! I noticed my pants were way loose at 15 lbs down.

I take pics every week of me standing in my bra and panties so I would be sure to see the changes. And they are there, I was just expecting more from 30lbs! I mean that's how much my son weighs and I just don't see that kind of weight gone. Then I get disappointed and want to eat a pint of ben and jerry's! ( But I never do!)

I'm sure when I get smaller and the weight makes more of a difference, I'll start to feel better about it.

Thanks for all your support, guys. <3
