Slave to the Scale

I have been on my journey for about 7 weeks now. I lost weight very quickly and then I started an exercise regimen a few weeks ago and I noticed that the weight has not come off as quickly...in fact it hasn't come off at all. Now this is partly due to some lapses in my food choices but more so due to the fact that I was finding it so hard to eat my exercise calories back! I just wasn't hungry. And I also was getting discouraged by not seeing the pounds go down as easily as they were. So recently I have backed off the exercise to see if that will get me going again. Of course I didn't start off on the right foot this past weekend but I plan on getting back at it starting today.

This morning while having my morning coffee and flipping through the channels I saw that Racheal Ray had on a guy that wrote a weight loss book that he discussed that really opened my eyes as to why I might have hit the plateau. There are so many low cal and low fat foods that I have been eating that have so much hidden sugars in them. According to this guy, we normally eat on average upwards of 160 grams of sugar per day. He suggests an intake of no more than 15 grams of sugar and at least 6 servings oof carbs a day.

So I will really be watching my sugar intake and staying off of the scale for a while and see how it goes.
