    Hello!

I am a stay at home mom as well, when I am not pulling night shifts as an RN. I have four kids. I had put on 40 lbs giving birth and putting them first as young children. I am going to send you a friend request. Good for you that you have supportive friends and husband, mine have made a world of difference. You can do this, it won't happen over night, but a bunch of small healthy choices add up to big changes!

Way to decide you want to make changes. I know it's not easy. I'm also a stay at home mom and have 3 kids age 14, 12, and my little girl just turned 3. I've lost all my weight by walking at home and doing stregnth training dvd's such as biggest loser boot camp and Jillian DVD's. I also have a group on Facebook at www.facebook.com/moveitandloseit where we keep eachother motivated and share recipe's, recommendations, and we do a weekly weigh in on Friday mornings to keep eachother going and see who our biggest loser is if you'd like to join us. We're always looking for others who are wanting to join this journey.
Good luck to you and your husband in all you do and congrats again for wanting to make the change.

DEFINITELY doable and as a stay at home, what a great opportunity to teach your kids about healthy eating and exercise :)

Awesome decision! Having your husband go through this with you will help both of you motivated as well! It's completely do-able, and you'll get there, just gotta stick with it. I'm a big fan of before/during/after photos. Measurements are good too. Even when you don't feel like you are making progress (the scale isn't always reliable for weight loss monitoring) you can review the pictures and see how your body has changed over the past 30 days! It's amazing to compare them and see the differences. It's great for motivation too!

Let me know if I can help.

I'm a work at home mom with 2 kids, ages 5 and almost 2. I gained about 70 lbs during and after my 1st child, and I'm still working on losing it. Given my husband's long work hours, I'm pretty much stuck doing this on my own. Feel free to add me.

Also a SAHM. I have half of my body weight to lose, but I just focus on making better choices than I would have, and doing the best I can, and it's working. You can add me if you like, as well.

    Best of luck.
I started with about 80lbs to lose. Here are a few things that helped me a lot.
    1) setting smaller goals - 10lbs each - then each time you hit one, its amazing! Its much better mentally, as otherwise you're going for a goal that seems unreachable
    2) having lots of friends on here for encouragement. Dont know a single one of them personally, but they are all fantastic, and give and receive lots of encouragement.

Feel free to friend me one and all :)

It is doable....I am not even a stay at home mom and I did it...it takes time as it took time for the pounds to get on....just have to be patient and make goals and stick to them. Most important check your eating habits. Visit a nutrition that can offer many helpful tips and suggestions to those of us who are naive to reading nutrition lables and serving sizes and such...I wish u luck!!

    Hiya!

I joined last week. :) I'm also a stay-at-home mom/in-home childcare provider, 29 on Sunday, and looking to lose 75 pounds by my 30th birthday (June 2012). Feel free to add me! I'd love a partner to work with! :)
