I'm going crazy because I've started to get really bad stitch whenever I run! I've never been much of a runner, but I like the idea of it, so I've been doing it a bit more; I've run race for life 5k and 10k few years ago too. I have gotten much much fitter and when I run/jogI never feel "worn out" or "out of breath" and my legs never ache, but I get such painful stitch in my side I have to stop after several minutes, even though the rest of my body feels like I could run forever!
I don't get it when I do cross trainer or the exercise bike. I've tried breathing deeply, drinking water, eating something before I work out, it doesn't go away and its SO painful, very sharp and stabbing.
If stitch is caused by absence of oxygen, I don't get it as I breathe lots and deeply, and when I rest it only improves mildly and then starts again soon after.
What could I do to help?

Try to relax your arms and work on your stride. Sometimes bad form can create a stitch like that..0
