I'm all down for trying new things especailly since I've hit a plateau for the last 3 weeks, let me know your thoughts!

RYAN’s DIET PLAN
4-5 serv Protiens: whey shake, skim milk, chickbreast (no skin), fish, lean red meat, tuna, eggs, lunch meats
2-3 Carbs: Wheat bread, wheat pasta, wheat toast, wheat tortilla, red potato, black beans, whole beans, bran, oats, oat meal, brown rice
1 Post Workout Carbs (ALSO KNOWN AS BAD CARBS) : 8 oz. natural Juice, two slice white bread, pretzels, white rice, small portion of noodles. ( POST WORK OUT MEAL, ONE CARB AND WHEY PROTIEN)
1-5 serv Veggies
1-2 serv Fruits ( careful with fruits, they still contain sugar. Too much fruit is not good for losing weight )
Snacks: carb master yogurt, protein shake, 1 string cheese.

Sample Day:
Eat every 2-3 hours
Meal 1: 2 eggs 3 slice ham and two wheat toast (dry), small oj (always has 30 grms protein and loading good carbs pre-work out, small sugar ok)
Meal 2: Protein shake carbmaster yogurt, handful of carrots
Meal 3: Wheat Pasta, with Chick and Veggies. ( loading good carbs pre-workout )
Meal 5: Post work out ( protein, bad carb very important)
Meal 6: Carne Asada with Steam veggies ( No carbs here)
Bed time snack: small protein shake 8 walnuts ( last meal needs protein and small amount of good fats, found in nuts and olive oil. This meal is small “NO CARBS” and is to keep the metabolism going)

You can add 1 fruit to this plan and veggies are optional to add for all.
Meal 1: Protien, Carb, fruit or juice
Meal 2: Protien, snack, Veggie, small carb optional
Meal 3: Protien, Carb, Veggie (This is good time for sandwiches)
Meal 5: Post workout
Meal 6: Protein Veggie
Bed time snack: ( last meal needs protein and small amount of good fats, found in nuts and olive oil. This meal is small “NO CARBS” and is to keep the metabolism going)
Easiest way to achieve this is cook 3 days worth of your choice of protein, Make a batch of steam veggies, and a batch of brown rice, pasta, or bread etc.

There is some issues with this diet and it seems like tons of carbs also there is 2 kinds of carbs complex and simple. Normally you find simple carbs in refined sugars and arnt good for you but you do also find them in fruit which actaully is good for you but if you load up on fruits they convert to carbs. Milks and cheeses also have natural sugars in them.

Also right after you workout (No later then 30mins) and first thing in the morning you need protien not at bed time. Always stay away from white starchy foods they are just bad for you.

Here is what it should look like or what i would do being that i have 9.5%bf.

    Sample Day:
Eat every 2-3 hours (VERY GOOD IDEA)
Breakfast 2 eggs, chicken breast and two whole wheat or 7 grain wheat toast (dry), small oj or milk
    After work out: Protien shake
Snack: Fruits and nuts/or Plain Greek yougart <mix your fruit/nuts in> it will tatse amazing and more protien
    Lunch: Chicken/Beef and Veggies.
Snack: Fruits and nuts/or Plain Greek yougart <change this up a bit for your taste keep it clean though.
    Post work out: Protien shake
Diner: Grilled Tuna steak and veggies maybe a small salad if you can fit it in. ( No carbs here)
Bed time snack: Not needed cause you will be full till you wake. (get up and run the next day)

Sounds good to me. I, personally, don't really like to follow a plan because it stresses me out a bit. I'd much rather lose 1 pound a week eating donuts for breakfast and brownies for desserts. Lol!!

But, seriously, if you feel like you need a plan to get through your plateau, then this one looks perfectly fine. It's not cutting out anything (as far as I can tell) like other plans do. As long as you make sure you're netting at least 1200 calories a day, or probably 1500 with you being a guy and all, then you'll be fine. Might I suggest calorie cycling though? Look it up on google or search on the MFP boards. It's how I got through my plateau.

This is horriable advice!!!! all food dont equal another you cant just consume 1200 cals a day and expect to lose weight unless you are way over weight especially if you are hitting a plateau.

I say make your own, this may work for him, but it may not work for you...

the "bad carbs" ?!?! why do you HAVE to have a BAD carb? ie white bread? I would rather have wheat bread. lol its better for you.

White rice? I would opt for brown rice...

as far as breaking through a plateau, read the link in my signature... it is brilliant, and you may find some advice there that is better than this persons diet plan.

Yes, bad advice. I've lost 132 pounds, eating what I want to eat and not stressing out about carbs, fat, sugar, sodium. I have perfect blood pressure now, my heart rate is considered to be at a professional athlete's level, and I've gone from a size 26 to a size 9. Yeah, that's some seriously bad advice.

And, besides, who says I was talking about ONLY eating donuts and brownies? Nobody. Way to be quick to judge and slow to consider other people's feelings. Sweet Jesus, you need help.

It is bad advice because you are advising on bad habits and congrats on losing 132lbs! To get your body to use food correctly you must feed if correctly other wise you will be stuck. Just because you went from a size 26 to a size 9 doesnt mean that it will work for this poster so if you carfully read what i posted stating this is what i would do and yes I do have 9.5% so i know how to drop weigh above and beyond the normal weight people lose.

No saying that its okay to eat whatever you want is completely bad advice and you need help if you think this is a okay way to continue losing weight and thus the reason i corrected you.

Ryan's plan isn't a bad plan. There isn't anything wrong with Emily's approach to losing weight either. Dieting is like Algebra because there is usually more than one method to the solution. In America, we have an abundance of rich and fatty foods that are found anywhere and everywhere. It's important to be able to navigate through all the food choices, and make the kind of choices that fit you. I wouldn't recommend a strict diet of no refined sugars for anybody already struggling with weight because that would stress them out, and they'll probably fail. Once you've mastered the art of burning more calories than you take into your body, you're going to drop pounds and inches regardless.

If you take the time to READ F.M.s second paragraph, you would see she was CLEARLY joking in the first! Take a deep breath... count to 10... read and reread if you need to. :o)
