I am so confused by this, everywhere I look says a differnet amount of net calories. Can somone please tell me an accurate way to calculate how many calories I should be consuming. MFP says 1200, BMR says 1400. I lost about 5 pounds and now I am completely stuck at this weight. I think my calories are off, I don't know if I am eating too much or too little. I am 5'5 and weigh 130, my goal is 115 and I am trying to lose .5 to 1 pound per week. Please help !

I am 5'5 and 132 pounds. Right now it is very difficult for me to lose weight because I am not "overweight" so my body is comfortable where it is...it is running efficiently and feels that the amount of fat it has is correct. If you really want to get to 115, that will be hard for your body because it won't want to feel malnourished. My goal is 125. Right now I am consuming 1200 calories, not eating back my workout calories, and still losing weight at a veeery painstaikingly slow rate...about .5 pounds a week. That's just how it is when you are not very overweight.0

At 5'5" and 130 lbs you should be eating close to maintenance and strength training.
Set your diary to maintenance and just create your own small 100-200 cal deficit per day.
You are already at an ideal healthy weight, so the last few "vanity pounds" are REALLY hard to get off and you have to convince your body it's ok to let them go by proving to it that there is enough food coming in that it can safely let go of the fat.
I'd say eat at LEAST 1600 a day. I eat that at 5'2" 109 lbs.0 -
Try 1200 but try not to go below even if you have to eat back your exercise calories. If not losing after a few weeks, I would try 1300, again not going below 1200 net. If still no luck, try 1400 and changing your exercise program.
Remember Protein first with your fiber and 64oz of water. Watch the Carbs, sugar and especially the Sodium. Stay away from processed food if you can.
Give it some time, you will succeed!0 -
You should be consuming 1400 to 1200 calories a day. If you work out try to eat back those calories, you will lose weight faster. If you are on a plateau try increasing your intake calories by 200 to 300 and change your exercise routine or time for a week or two then back to what you were doing before and the scale should start to budge.0
