GOOD FOOD, BAD FOOD, I'M SO CONFUSED AND HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!

Hey everyone!
So I recently converted to a vegetarianism way of life 6 months ago. I've done really well, the only problem is, now most of my meals are processed. I am trying to cut them out of my diet, but I am so confused and have no idea where to start with all the misleading info out there on the internet. Of course there is no way of preventing it anywhere, including on this website. So try your best to tell me what is considered good food and bad food. I have recently read a little about the flat belly solution, has anyone tried it? I am by no means going to purchase any type of diet plan because I don't think I should have to buy common sense information. The problem is, when it comes to food I have no common sense! So this flat belly solution talks alot about what foods make you gain weight and what foods are good for you. I'm so sick of the good fats, bad fats, no sugar, low sugar, no carb diets out there and just want to eat the best I can. I just want to make sure that I avoid certain foods that may not be good for me. I went grocery shopping today and bought a lot of veggies and fruit, but besides that I haven't really bought anything else because when I got to the bread and pasta isle I just stared. I had no idea what to do or what to think. Any opinions will be taken into consideration and much appreciated! Also please take into consideration that I do not eat eggs either, which most vegetarians do. Thanks!

All natural veggie burgers?
Nuts
Avacado
Olive oil
Tempeh
Soy
Boca and Morning Star Farms make some pretty tasty food. Low cal.. not sure about sodium. [I am hooked on the original grillers meatless burgers! 70 or 80 calories, and yummY!]
Maybe check your local library for vegetarian cookbooks. I've borrowed some. I do eat turkey, chicken and fish, but do meatless also.
Lots of luck!0 -
Processed on a vegetarian diet? I didn't even know that was possible.
I don't believe however that a vegetarian diet is common sense information, most of us weren't raised vegetarian. That's why there are a million books on vegetarianism.
Try the titles How to Cook Everything Vegetarian, 5 ingredient Vegetarian Gourmet, Healthy Asian Vegetarian Dishes, The New Moosewood Cookbook, The Enchanted Broccoli Forest, Veggie Food.
I've had to go to a pesco-vegetarian (still eat fish) in my house due to someone's needs, and I haven't had processed food (except tofu, but it's not like I can make that) since.0 -
I was a vegetarian for 6 years and I plan to go back. I'm telling you right now, my biggest mistake was pasta. Oh man. I ate pasta like it was my job. I gained like 20 pounds. Then I realized I really couldn't handle pastas and breads, so I cut back to maybe once or twice a week, and just boca/morning star farms and lots of fresh veggies. That was my best weight and eating habit ever. You can grab soy at the store as well and toy around with it. Just be smart! If you eat something and it sits heavy or makes you feel tired, probably don't eat it again! Good luck!0
