Anyone here struggle with not being hungry?

I am a person who has recovered from an eating disorder, whilst having health problems that both cause me to lose my appetite, yet I MUST eat or bad things happen (ie passing out). I have my good days where I am hungry and it isnt a problem to reach my 1200 calories (to lose weight) or my 1750 (to maintain weight). I have some days where the thought of eating is a challenge as I am positively NOT hungry, but have no choice to eat, thus, I engage in unhealthy foods to give my body the energy I need to function on my meds and otherwise. Its incredibly frustrating to try and differentiate between "Am I not hungry due to meds or my EDNOS?". Then tell myself "Man youve done SO well eating healthy, three to four times a day, or twice with snacks" yet know I just cant eat that much that day, so I grab something high calorie which is usually bad for me.
Anyone else struggle with this? Any idea for foods that are good for you but high calorie? I dont eat protein bars because most have more sugar than protein, which cancels it out. Im not eating a bar with 15 g protein and 30 g sugar. Its just silly to me. Thank you.

Nuts! They are very high calorie and fantastic for you0

Nuts, avocados, cheese, red meats come to mind immediately - even brown rice has a relatively high calorie count.
Also, have you tried running. For me, and it seems like for many others, a morning run revs up the appetite.0 -

Breakfast is the challenge for me. Especially on non gym days. Working out helps my appetite do on gym days I'm usually pretty hungry.
If you want a high protein snack, protien bars are fairly easy to make and can even be made non bake. start with natural nut butter. i prefer almond butter. mix in granola or oatmeal even add a bit of dried fruit, the fruit will add a bit of sugar but you control how much. My fav is to add shredded carrots and seasonings as if you were making carrot cake, add a few white raisins and then shape either into balls or bars, wrap it in wax paper and you are set.
I also like hard boiled eggs. it's filling and small enough to nibble on when you aren't that hungry, or almonds or walnuts.0 -
THIS! okay so recently, i have lost around a lot of weight, but the unhealthy way. i was never over weight but i was just never happy with myself. so i restricted a lot and now, im under weight. im trying to gain some weight, because i wanna look healthy, and i wanna get toned, instead of being thin. so i eat a lot now but most of the time, im not even hungry. especially for dinner. last night, my family ate dinner at 6 but i had already eaten a meal at 3 (after school) and i ate a fruit at 5. so i wasnt hungry. so i just decided to wait a few minutes and at 8, i ate stir fry. i was so hungry by 8, even though its really late. but yeah, so basically if im not hungry, i just wait until i get hungry. also, high caloric foods are bagels, peanut butter, nuts, full fat milk and full fat yogurts good luck!0

I was told by my physician the minimum number of calories I need to eat each day to not going into starvation mode. She suggested drinking milk to help get to a minimum calorie count.0

Thank you all for the suggestion. I certainly will start making my own protein bars. You all are amazing.0
