S.B.F. Fitness Challenge. . .Sept 19

Happy Friday. It sure got here quickly.

I forgot to mention - my blood work showed a perfectly functioning thyroid - on all levels. Part of me knew this was the case, as I'm rarely tired. I'm one of those few fortunate people who get enough sleep.

I'm feeling better, but I'm still going in for the ultrasound. I think: what if I don't go in, then feel ill again? So today I'm going to the gym to do elliptical and will try to fit in yoga as well.

Starting tonight is our week off at home - so lots of going out to eat. We got some expected bad financial news (huge long story involving previously owned company, bad debt and bad decisions) and we are going to tighten our belts. Oh, it's going to be hard. We are a couple of spoiled brats basically. And it's going to hit right as we start this vacation, sigh. I just got the schedule for October for yoga sub - nothing available, double sigh. It's only money, right?

Oh, I got the name of the dietician, so if she's not too much, I'm going to save my dollars to go see her at least once. I really, really hope she can help me.

Have a great workout today!

Mary

ps, if you can think of a caption for the "I bite your butt" picture on the left, send it to me - I think it's worthy of LOL cats.

    Mary,
Will you get the results from the ultrasound right away or will you have to wait? Your week off sounds fun. I'd like to have something like that. lol And cute picture of your cat! Maybe I'll come up with something witty after I think about it for awhile.
My drama continues. I started spotting yesterday. It stopped this morning or during the night though. If it acts weird all day then I am taking a test in the morning. If my period starts then I won't worry about taking the test. So because I spotted today, I only did my push ups this morning and that's it for the day. No heavy nothing. I want to see what happens. Unfortunately the food I bought for meals this week is to be eaten only with exercise! lol. So I am liable to go over my calories today. I did some sit ups yesterday and I felt a pain in my abs, then I started cramping after that. Not hard just off and on. Then later I started bleeding. I wouldn't think doing a few sit ups would cause a miscarriage do you? I will keep you up to date on what's happening.
I need to get ready to go to Bible study. Have a good day!

MM - I think walking is in order - I've heard that's good for pregnant women.

I won't find out the results until next week I think.

    Morning. . .

Today is yoga. . .I'm actually a bit nervous to go, as Wednesday was a bad experience.

I feel terrible. I'm having what I think (hope) are cyst-related symptoms. . .but I'm exhausted (literally can't keep my eyes open, falling asleep on the subway yesterday. . .) and cramping and now heavily spotting. I'm having my husband call a Dr. acquaintance to check on my referred specialist to see if he's worth the wait. I'm contemplating a visit to the ER, which here, just like the states is the shortcut to care.

Anyways, I'm going to go to yoga today unless I get worse, in the hopes that it will either make it better or at least let me forget about it for 90 minutes.

Yes, a gentle walk sounds like a good plan, MM.

Oh, and Mary when I had my ultrasound, even though "the technician will not tell you anything!" postings all over the office, the lady said to me. . ."you have cyst. your doctor will tell you more. make sure you call dr. tomorrow" (yes, that's verbatim) So, you may know something. I'm really glad you don't have the bladder full one. I'd rather not eat for a week than hold urine for an hour, but that's just me.

Oh, look, as usual, I've written a book.

Take care of yourselves. . .

how about "your butt. . .it haz a flavor." ?

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, Melissa! I feel a bit tentative still about just jumping in here as it seems like you all know each other's lives so well! But thanks for opening your group to me, I'm very excited! I didn't know you were pregnant- congratulations! I agree with the others though, maybe a nice walk is the best plan for now.

V- if you don't mind me asking, where is your cyst? How long have you known about it?

Mary, let us know if you do get to go to the dietician- I've always been curious about that. Sorry about the finance stuff, that's so frustrating. I understand, I'm in the middle of the immigration process right now and it's not proving cheap. My lifestyle has definitely had to change. I hope everything works out.

My goals for today (tomorrow) are:

    1) To win my basketball Grand Final!!
There are two teams from my league in the division that I play in, and we both made it to the Championship game! This means that my team is playing against a team of some of my best friends. We ALL want to win, obviously, and we are all very competitive, and I am scared to death that there will be blood (literally, some of these girls are pretty vicious on the court) if not a few hurt feelings. We are all doing our best to be civil about it, but the fact remains that this is a big competition and we will all play our hardest and most aggressively. They are "technically" the stronger team, but my team has a lot of determination which I'm hoping will be enough to help us win.

    2) To have a good attitude regardless of the outcome of the game, and to be gracious to the other team, whether we are the winners or losers.

    3) Drink LOTS of water- it's forecast hot tomorrow, and the stadium's the worst.

Oops that was long! I hope you all have a great day!

It's in my right ovary. . .and we "watched it" because "they usually resolve on their own" for two/three years. It got bigger. Oof. So, I'm waiting for a specialist appointment and alternately freaking out/forgetting it's there.

Oh, and welcome to our drama/support/exercise group!:flowerforyou:

Welcome barefoot - where are you going and where are you from? I noticed your profile said Australia.

Thanks Viv. My mom had an ovarian cyst as well- but she didn't tell her daughters about it until after she'd been diagnosed and had it removed! My sister and I were not impressed to be kept in the dark. But she is fine now- hopefully you get your specialist appointment soon! The waiting would be so frustrating.

Mary, I am Canadian but have been living in Australia for about a year now. I was here a few years ago on a university exchange and came back to be with my (now ex) boyfriend. And now I am immigrating! Hopefully, anyway, if my visa goes through! :grumble:

 Wow, everybody has stuff I want to comment on. Ha ha.
Glad you came barefoot! Let us know about your game! Sounds exciting! I hope your friendships will not change because of the outcome. Oh and I am not sure that I am pregnant yet. I may find out in the morning!
You gals are lucky to not have the full bladder ultrasounds! I thought I was going to die from my pregnancy one. I did what they said: drank 32 ounces of water about 30 minutes before going to the hospital. I had to pee before I got there (I was about 4-5 months pregnant). We had to wait like 20 minutes and let me tell you that 20 minutes was an eternity!!!! I was literally crying it was hurting so bad. I finally went to the bathroom anyway. I had to! The tech said my bladder was nice and full, so next time I am not drinking all that! All right, maybe that was too much info! It took me back a few years though. Thanks! Please Mary and Viv just take care of yourselves. Don't push too hard. Listen to your body. You know all that stuff. I'm just reminding you!
Carrie could you come to my house and clean? I NEED to get rid of a bunch of stuff! What if I might some of it again soon? I need help.
Alright I'm off to have lunch. I am really hungry for a sandwich. I don't know why. That's just what I want!
Oh and I think my hubby and I and Alex are going for a walk tonight. So that will be my exercise.

    Hey guys,

Sorry to disappear. I need to go back through the past month of posts to catch up on everyone... seems like a lot has happened!

I had an awesome time at my pageant, won a media award and the achievement award. I didn't place (really great scores in 3 of the 4 events) photo quality was REALLY bad and killed my score. I know better for next year. The girl who won is awesome & deserves it... but it's mine next year!

So, the day after I got home, my mother-in-law called and told me that my father-in-law has cancer. I had to tell my husband. We found out last week that it is terminal and he has been given 24-26 months. After that, my brother e-mailed saying Dad's Parkinsons is getting worse, then our 2 year old got chicken pox. Short version, my life has sucked for about a month. I have resorted to food for comfort, gained back 10lbs, not exercised, and feel HORRID.

Monday is the day I have decided to pull my head out of my butt, face the music and take back control of my life. I am counting my calories and cutting the junk out over this weekend, but Monday is my "official" day back.

    Have a great weekend,
    Arianne

    Ended up sleeping through bikram.

My husband (ever the voice of logic) said "I think your body is tired. Maybe you should listen to it for once."

So, things didn't go according to plan today. . .:ohwell:
