Just signed up to do a 3 mile walk in a month for a summer festival. Having never done this sort of thing before, what should I be doing the week or so leading up to the event? Food on the day of?
It's an early morning start, which coincides with my normal exercise time. I am already doing the 3 miles on a treadmill, with an incline figured in, so I am not worried about completing, just how fast can I do it.

I think you need to do that same walk at least once, twice or a few times, outside..
I've heard walking on a treadmill is different than walking outside.
Plus the elements from the weather are different.
www.mapmyrun.com to create a 3 mile route in your area.

Thanks!
I actually live behind my old elementary school and their 400 meter track. Plan on starting around it today.0 -
Wanted to update.
The walk was this past Saturday. My goal was to complete and finish under 50 minutes.
I finished 30th out of 70 walkers and my time was 42.24. :bigsmile:0
