Help! What are the best cardio and muscle toning workouts at

I go to the gym with my little sister 4 times a week and do 35 mins of cardio and just do one set of 20 on each of the weight machines. For both of us to finish it equals about a 1.5 hour trip to the gym. Does this sound reasonable?

sounds about right to begin with.. i am doing a little more.. like 45/50 cardio.. but thats just me.. do they have a specialist at your gym?0

I would do three sets of 10on the machines... your muscles should be super tired once you are done. you should be lifting just enough weight that you can lift the weight just barely 10 times per set.
I only do 30-40 minutes of cardio too...0 -
zumba! once you start i've heard it's really intense and burns lots of calories.0

Thanks for the website I will definitely be checking it out!!0 -
Sounds about right but if you have the time and resources you should maybe talk to a trainer or even get a book to focus your efforts on exaclty what you want to accomplish.0

To be honest: I've been working out at home for the last year & a half since there is no gym close enough that I can get to. I started doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred in April this year (per my Baby Sister's suggestion) & switched to her 6 Week 6 Pack in May (I'm on my last week this week ) and I mix in No More Trouble Zones and I've seen the MOST AMAZING difference in 2 months! I NEVER thought I'd be in a size 9 (almost a 7) EVER again, especially being in my mid-30's & now I have hope for a size 5 & life-long maintenance
The Firm workouts are great lo-key cardio mixes for my "off" days when I need a break from JM or an after-JM cool-down on days I have too much energy & need to burn xtra off
Every "body" is different, so what works for one may not work for all: if you really want results, though - JM can be done at home with 3 & 5 pound dumbbells & an exercise matt (that you can pick up at ROSS or TJMaxx or the like for $20-$30) and order the DVD's off Amazon for less than $10 each (sometimes get free shipping) and use the money you save on your gym membership to buy that much needed wardrobe when you see the pounds shedding :flowerforyou:0 -

that's where I go too...right now I'm doing weights 3 days a week and calisthenics (?) 2 days a week...cardio all 5 days. You can do the pully weights, but do some free weights too to build your core...you don't want to lose a ton of weight and have flabby abs lol that's my biggest fear. so work your core! If you need anything let me know, I'm knew too so I've been doing research like mad/0 -
Thanks for all the tips guys. I will be taking all of your suggestions0

Actually they do. I've used them in the past but I was never really a fan. It seemed kind of awkward lol0
