My husband and I recently change cars, I now drive his old car. He is an addict and works the NA/AA twelve step program, and when I was cleaning out his car a came across his fouth step paper work. I read it of course, and there were some pretty hurtful things in it. I want to demand answers, but there is a few questions I have to ask myself. Should I have read it? He is admitting wrong in it, should I let it go and let his sponsor handle it? Sometimes just hearing what other would do, or wouldn't do, helps me make my decisions on how to handle something like this. If anyone can give me any advice, please do so.

I guess that depends on if it's something that you can let go without discussing it, and by let go I mean really let go not just hold your tongue and let it fester. If not, then yes I think you should talk about it with him. Was it something private that shouldn't have been read, yes, but you didn't go snooping it was an accident that you came across it, you read it, and you can't take it back, you can't "unknow" what you know now.0

I would ask. It would kill me the not knowing. Try not to over react and try to stay calm while you speak to him. This ia totally up to you and your relationship.0

It is something that I will let build and build and it will seriously fester. You are probably right.0 -

Since you are driving his car (and he knows it) it's not like you were snooping. I believe that when you talk about things (even the ones that are hard to talk about) it always feels better than before. It will be a good step in the healing process.
good luck, all the best to you0
