Question, should I change my "GOAL" calories? I was at 1380 a day with a projected 1 1/2 lb loss per week (which never happened- I mean, I lost weight, but not quickly). If I change it to the recommended 1lb a week it boasts up my calorie goal to 1680. Is this too much? I'm nervouse to make the change, but I WANT REAL WEIGHT LOSS RESULTS! help please

Try it for two weeks. If you gain a pound or two, then you know its not for you... two pounds in the long scheme of things is no big deal. Its all about experimenting.0

I upped my calories and I am actually losing faster :-)0

I just bumped mine today from 1200 to 1500...it's a scary thought, but I'm hoping it will help me break out of my stall! Try upping your calories for a week, and then re-evaulate. Good luck!!0

I'm using this website, works pretty well I find. http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm0

Thanks, that was very helpful! Apparently I SHOULD change it.0

Mine said to only eat 1200 calories a day but I found it very difficult. So I upped it to 1350. I have been on MFP for 3 months and lost 15 pounds. That's only 5 pounds a month It's so hard. Let us know how it works out for you. I'd really like to know if it is worth it.0

Don't change your calories, change your macronutrients, reduce carbs, and increase protein and fats. Your body works like this, if you eat carbs, they get converted to glucose(blood sugar) it fills your muscles if they're empty of glucose. If your muscles are full of glyocgen(what glucose turns in to) the sugar will turn in to fat.
People get fat or stop getting results due to insulin levels, to decrease them, lower your carbs a little bit.0 -
Thanks for that website with the other calorie counter. Found that very interesting!0

I checked out your diary and you should start tracking your carbs so you can have an idea of what needs to go.0

Do you track your sodium?? Might help you see if your weight issues are due to fluid retention! Just a thought0 -
I check my sodium and im never over, not even close. My issues are coming in with the sugar.0
