Hello All,
I am fairly new to MFP and at first I figured I didn't need very many friends on my list because I was thinking I just wanted to be personal. well not having any support = lacking of logging in on days, which leads to not watching my food intake which leads to weight gain. Sad Day. With that being said I have decided that I need to reach out to people and find some supportive friends with this battle against the healthy lifestyle.
I am 23, just graduated from college and I'm going on my 8th month as a social worker. Needless to say, I've been living an insanely stressful life lately and as a result my weight has gotten out of control. It really feels like if I even eat one thing that is remotely bad that I instantly gain. When I first started MFP things were running smoothly and I lost 4 pounds. Then life happened with all it's stresses, sickness, events, and social life, and i slacked for awhile. Weighing in for the first time yesterday I discovered that not only did I gain back those 4 pounds but I added 6 more to the party barge! Mortified, I have come back and I'm really going to try to stick to it the best that I can. Therefore I am asking for help and for some motivators to help me with my battle.
thoughts and friend requests are appreciated!
thank you all!

Totally understand how stress influences a diet. I think the best thing that my wife and I were able to do was establish a routine. If you can try to eat your meals and the same times everyday and hit the gym or whatever workout you do at a similar time daily, that should make it a little easier. You really have to work at talking yourself out of taking the convenient route of fast food/soft drinks, etc.
Plus, exercise has been shown to reduce stress, so if you're not getting a good amount of exercise in a given week, give it a try!
Hang with it, you'll be on your way in no time!0 -
Social workers stand up! Girl, I completely relate to your stress in the human services field! Seems like the only good thing we can get in the day is a bite of something tasty and bad-for-you. I gained 15 pounds when I graduated college. Yes, I gained my freshman 15 AFTER college! I didn't even realize it til I was up 2 sizes in my jeans and I couldn't run more than 5 minutes without having to stop and die. I am at my ideal weight but I'm naughty when it comes to eating and skipping the gym at times. I'll add you!:happy:0
