Has anyone done one of these? I'm doing the Warrior Dash in a few weeks, and I know the Tough Mudder is way more difficult, but I just wanted to see if anyone had done one. If so, how was it? Did you like it? Why? Or why didn't you like it? Did you finish? How did you train? Did you follow their training guidelines?

I'm also doing the Warrior Dash in July in North Bend, which one are you doing? I've talked to a few people who have done it and they insist you don't have to be in great shape to compete and that a lot of people walk it. Personally I haven't been worried too much about training for it. I have been running so I can at least get from obstacle to obstacle at a decent pace. I'm curious to hear what others reccommend!

I can't wait to do a toughmudder. I'm gonna do a WD first, in November I think, then the toughmudder in January (Texas). I look forward to responses too.

    ETA: actually, it's February.

I'm doing the Warrior Dash in Channohan, IL. I'm not really training for the Warrior Dash either, I'm too busy training for the half marathon I'm running this Sunday! But, I figure that if I can run a 5k, than the Warrior Dash isn't that big of a deal, and really I'm not planning to make it a race, just going out and having fun.

The Tough Mudder is a much more serious event, it's 10-12 miles and 20-25 obstacles. The obstacles are designed by the British Special Forces, so it's serious. They don't even call it a race. Check out the website, it's no joke, they state that only 78% of participants finish. Which is why I was wondering if anyone had done one before and if they had any training tips, etc.

I did Warrior Dash AZ in April. Had a blast. I ran it with several friends who don't really exercise much, but they were able to finish everything with no problem. They just had to walk a lot so it took them about 15 minutes longer.

I'm registered for Tough Mudder AZ January 2012 and it looks like it's going to be a hell of a lot harder, but again you don't have to run it all and it's not a timed event. It's more teamwork and completion oriented. I'm training for it, but I still doubt I'll be running all 11 miles of it!

I am not tough enough for a Tough Mudder. All the local or regional ones are in April or November. I'm not opposed to getting drenched and muddy. I'm opposed to getting drenched and muddy when there may very well be snow on the ground. Not a fan of hypothermia.

HAHA! I feel the same way! There's one in July in my area, but I'm not paying the expensive registration, the next closest one is in November brrrrr, too cold. My husband and I plan to try and go to Florida in November/December to visit my brother, and Tampa has one December 3rd and 4th. So that's the one I'm looking to try and do. If not, then I will do the one in July next year.
