Net Calories..... HELP

Can someone explain to me in a way I can understand how the whole net calorie thing works.... what's good and bad.. If I am shooting for 2lbs a week where should mine be???

Net calories are the "actual" amount of calories that your body retains for that day. So say in one day you eat 1500 calories and you burn 500 calories doing cardio. To figure out your "Net Calories" for the day you would take the 1500 calories you consumed and subtract the 500 calories that you burned. In this case your "Net Calories" would be 1000 calories for that day.0

So is it okay to let them fall below 1200... or should they always be above that?0

They say not to be less than 1200...but the way I see it missing an extra 1 or 200 wont hurt once in a while.0
