Does anyone have any instead of foods? Like a healthy food that will fix your craving for an unhealthy one? if this makes sense.

Today I wanted this lemon cream cake that I saw, but 'instead'... I got some FiberOne bars and they were fabulous :) I also do Sugar free syrup 'instead of' the regular kind so I can enjoy pancakes. Fruit instead of chocolate...baked chips instead of regular...Subway instead of McDonalds...Water instead of anything else...I have lots!

I am not very big on substituting because I know eventually I would want to go back to my "old" snacks and foods. That said, I just am militant about portion sizes, especially on snacks. For example, I would live on cheese and crackers if I could. But what I do now is get an 8 ounce chunk of cheese, cut it into 8 chunks (1 oz. servings). Then I get one of the Wasa Crispbread crackers (a serving is 3, but I only use one) and take a little bite of the cheese and a little bite of the cracker, usually ends up being 8-10 bites and I realize that is more than enough!

I have lots... larabars or Luna bars instead of candy bars, fruit leather when I'm craving something sweet, and baby carrots or celery when I want chips.

Meringues, they're not too bad on calories and low in fat and definitely satisfy your sweet tooth!
Fruit of course is great - especially if you have ones you really enjoy.
Weight Watchers bars are delicious and better than regular chocolate bar.
For something lowcarb... try celery and peanut butter. Its delicious and low-carb!

Usually I just eat what I want and budget the calories. However... every once in a while I'm out of calories and need something sweet after dinner. I keep a bag of mini-chocolate rice cakes on hand. Each mini is about 12 calories and two will fix me right up for that "need dessert" feeling.

Wanting sour cream? Use Greek yogurt (Fage or Chobani brands.) Use it to make your ranch dip with veggies.
Wanting a cheese enchilada? I corn tortilla, 1 wedge Laughing Cow swiss cheese, 1/2 green onion, 3 Tbs enchilada sauce. Heat in micro. Only 100 cals so you can have 2 for a nice snack.
CHOCOLATE!?!?! Grab a few EXTRA Dark chocolate chips. So rich you can eat them one at a time and enjoy the flavor.

If I have a sweet craving I slice up a 1 cup of strawberries and add some no calorie sweetener to it, its HEAVEN! I also do popcorn instead of chips but if I do eat chips I eat Terra potato chips, the mozerella kind theres barely any sodium in them!

Laughing Cow cheese wedges instead of cream cheese
A small dressing cup of soft serve vanilla ice cream (about 4 to 5.5 oz) or a small iced mocha with skim milk and 1/2 the flavoring (less than 240 calories) and sip it over an hour instead of a dish of regular ice cream
