100 calories burned in 10 min???

i did squats, jumping jacks, burpees ect for 10 min and my heartrate monitor said that was 100 calories burned.... right before that i did 20 min on the elliptical and that was 207... how accurate do you think that is?? 100 cals in 10 min seems like alot to me... im 143 lbs 5'6 if that helps.. i also have the sportline universal monitor and dont know how much i should trust it

    That is very accurate. The average person burns about 10 calories a minute with aerobic activity. All the things you listed are certain to get your heart going and keep it going. The 100 for 10 mins sounds perfect to me. :smile: I jump rope every day for 10 mins and burn pretty much 100 (98 some days, 105 other days)

    Ditto - if I am not burning at least 10 cals per minute, I'm not working hard enough ;) Typically I'm in the 11-12/min range. Great work!

    Sounds about right!
    I usually burn anywhere from 100-120 calories in 10 minutes according to my HRM..

    Accurate. I do bodyrock.tv sometimes when I don't feel like hitting the gym- and most of the workouts are 12 minutes long, so its not uncommon for my HRM to say more than 100 cals in those 10-12 minutes.
