Now that I've taken up running, I'd like to buy a Camelbak, rather than carrying a water bottle or not having water at all. I didn't realize there were so many models of Camelbaks out there! Any recommendations on which one to buy?

I would get the slimmest one they offer, without the bells and whistles. Check out the 2011 Octane LR. It's made specifically for running and has a tad of storage for phone and keys.

Go to the store and try them on. I tried the new Nathan woman's running vest (like a camel back) and my friends burst into laughter, the pockets were directly over my chest and it looked inappropriate when I tried to open them. Knew I'd never hear the end of it. I ended up buying a waist camel back, when full it bounces a bit- but I love the convenience of the tube. I think it's too big for me. The others all seemed like they would chafe or bounce even in the store. too many extra pockets also meant too much weight. Hope you get some good suggestions because I'd love to know, too.

It's all about comfort!! I have the waist Camelbak Flashflo (the bladder is about 45 oz.), which I use on my long runs and marathons. I love the convenience of the tube. You can buy a little clip that will allow you to attach the tube either to the waistband or anywhere on your clothing. It can bounce a bit when it's full, but then I remind myself that if I would drink like I'm supposed to, it won't bounce anymore :) There's also a zipped pouch in the front which is fairly roomy. My husband has a Camelbak similar to the one Arizona_JR pictured, and he loves it.

My wife has the Flashflo too. We discovered that if you suck all of the air out of the bag before you start your run, it doesn't seem to slosh around as much.
